This is an excellent and most important site not only for local Sheffield history but also for the UK. The work that has been done to bring out the story of the site and stop it's long term deterioration is to be admired. To enter...More

I’m interested in visiting old places like this and don’t mind paying but in my opinion once you pay an entrance fee, you should be able to see everything but apparently here it’s £3 to enter and another £2 to go inside the house bit...More

This is quite an amazing place, which is rather overshadowed by such places as Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall, despite being part of the same history. There are few buildings left extant, but the Turret House is well worth a visit, it having very probably been...More

We visited this attraction twice this week, there is loads to do, but both times visitor numbers were low, so I am not sure why more people are not taking advantage of what is in offer. There are tree sites, all the the same park,...More

The craft fares are great for the kids. Mine have been to three now. My 8 year old loves to walk around the ruins and imagined what it was like living there. All the staff enjoy what they’re doing.

Found this because a friend had been earlier in the year, though I've lived in Sheffield and didn't know it existed). A very interesting tour and re-enactment from Bess of Hardwick. Fascinating and well worth a visit.

An excellent free place to visit for all, I went on a passing visit once and it was rich in history. The small house is well maintained as well as what remains of the main house, but the rest of the site could do with...More
