Our friends from Nottingham met us at the station and we took them into town. Nick had never seen the peace Gardens and he was impressed. Really liked the public space. Commented that if this was a city in Europe people would make very positive...More

The peace gardens look great at night and during the day they can be a nice place to relax and enjoy the sun or enjoy a sandwich and a cuppa during your lunch break. However its a real shame about the gangs of street drinkers...More

People really are at peace here, everybody is relaxed and children are always playing in the fountains. It's surrounded by places to eat including takeouts, so you could grab a sandwich or pasty from the bakery across the road and sit and relax in front...More

Not that peaceful as usually a hub of people enjoying the green of the city centre. Children especially enjoy the fountains. Clean and cheerful. There are often city ambassadors around to help you too.

I have recently moved to Sheffield and found the Peace gardens great in August when it became the seaside with lots to do for children. Also a great place on summer days for children running through the fountains. A nice place to have your lunch...More

The peace gardens are an excellent place to visit any time of year, it is surrounded by a museum and the place outside with water features. All round a nice place to visit to relax with friends or on your own.

Great gardens for all to enjoy. Good for children. Very calming. There are seats all around the water features so you can sit and rest and watch the water formations to your hearts content.

This is a lovely space to relax in the centre of the city. Green space, water features and fountains which are always a magnet for kids to run through in the warm weather. Its next to the registry office so there are often wedding parties...More

Mid October visit but with very mild weather. This is a nice place to sit and relax, with the constant sound of running water. Due to the unseasonal weather, we found there were children playing in the fountains and having great fun splashing around.

Get off at the bottom of West Street and walk down Leopold Street, or get off at Cathedral and walk up Fargate.
