My wife have just returned from our annual visit to Shaffield city centre by train and once again visited the lovely winter gardens. This is a beautiful place to sit for a while as even on a cloudy cold January day it makes you feel good and think that Spring is just around the corner. You can sit and unwind... More

I still marvel that this great building was built in the steel city. I love its soaring wooden curves, pleasant planting and frequent art exhibitions. Any journey through the city merits a detour through here. The shops are varied and the Millennium galleries next door have a very high standard of exhibitions. We almost got married here until it emerged... More

This winter garden is well worth a visit. It is located in downtown Sheffield, and is the largest urban temperate glass house in Europe. Altogether it is a very pleasant place to stroll through.

My kids loved this place to be able try and find all the hidden animals. I didn't think they would enjoy it as much as they did.

You are inside safe from the elements. But the clever use of a glass makes it feel like its outside I especially love the way it is always changing . I've seen professional snooker players playing when the nearby crucibleis hosting snooker championships I have also enjoyed watching singing and dancing when the alzheimers society has been highlighting awareness week... A lovely, peaceful haven to get away from the January cold and sit in the warm, eat your sandwich in peace and watch the world go by

Part of a group of millennium buildings containing artist and craft outlets, art galleries and steel museum. The Winter Garden was (is) the largest enclosure of its type in Europe, containing, amongst other plants, established palms from many parts of the world. An agreeable hour or so an a cold damp winter day.

Have a walk through, feel relaxed, sit on one of the many benches & look at the various plants and trees. Go here on a romantic date, with a friend for coffee, or to peruse the little shops around it. Don't go to Sheffield without checking it out (as well as the adjoining Peace Garden); it's small, so won't take... More
