Weston Park is an award-winning, family-friendly museum where the visitors come first. If visiting with children, simply wind up and release, but there is plenty of treasure here for adults too. Discover the real story of Sheffield, from its geological roots to the people, politics and music that shaped the modern city. Alongside old favourites such as Snowy the Polar Bear and Spike the Woolly Rhino, Weston Park plays host to a series of temporary exhibitions.

Nice activity and Museum

We visited the Museum with our son. I liked the displayed information but it's not too big. You are through quite quickly. But you should definitely visit it.

Great place, plenty of interesting exhibits. Lots of hands on things for children. Polar bear was great to see. Good gift shop, café was ok, well worth a visit.

The museum's permanent themes are attractively arranged. For a few months there is an amazing collection of portraits with brief notes about each person, where they came from and what they contributed here in Sheffield. The photographer who lives locally has created a stunning collection.

Not only are the park and building excellent, but the quality of the exhibitions is marvellous. Today spent longer than I planned viewing a superb display on the city of Sheffield "Arrivals". Photographs were stunning and the video display extremely moving. And I am not from Sheffield! Lovely cafe and high quality toilets.

We took our granddaughter during the school holidays when they have activities for children. There are craft sessions, treasure hunts and plenty to do and see inside the museum. There are sensory activities.

I would absolutely recommend a visit to the museum. Having visited as a child I am impressed at how it has been updated and reinvented, whilst using many of the artefacts from the past. It is now a real family attraction with something for everyone (including a reasonably priced cafe). The current "Arrivals" exhibition is stunning, encapsulating the difficulties and... More

A lovely old building on the edge of an attractive park not to far from city centre. Alas the Mappin art Gallery wing was closed but the rest was well worth a visit, giving a fascinating insight into Sheffield life, its people, their stories - including migrants experiences, wartime stories, local trades and industries etc. Very well presented with a...
