So I will confess that my opinion of his walk will have been spoiled by the fact that the rain cut it short. It may also be spoiled by the fact that I live by a lovely stretch of canal in Hertfordshire, but this walk struck me as generally "tatty" by comparison. Significant parts of what we saw were the... It just a lovely walk and it's started to get revamped after not being to bad. Nice little break watching the boats and that. Cannot say any thing more but away from traffic and can enjoy the quite area in a city.

Good for a walk but lots of litter and dodgy youths lurking about. Lots of fishing going on but is it right to take the fish away?

On Sunday we tried to do the 5 weirs walk from Sheffield to Meadowhall, returning back along the canal. Disaster, ended up returning by bus as the tow path was closed after approx 200yds with no clear directions as to a detour. We were really fed up at this point as a couple of sections of the 5 weirs walk... More

Really nice walk, I saw a heron which I enjoyed. Easy to forget you are near a busy city & roads. The only issue was the path in some places (even at hight of summer) is wet/muddy & slippy in places so need to be very careful. I've done centre to arena & centre to Meadowhall- I was really surprised... More

the canal had a major clean up a few years ago to encourage fish back but now it has started to deteriorate again with quite a lot of rubbish which seems to 'pond' and rot so it can be a bit smelly in places - come on sheffield council let not leave it to volunteers

More to do than other reviews have said - several cafes at the start of the trail. It is a picturesque setting and the walk is worth finding your way to
