Unable to visit the Shropshire Regimental Museum, as it is closed on Thursdays. However just inside the entrance gates, there is a flight of stone steps leading up to Laura's Tower. In itself a lovely looking building, but is also a very good place to...More

Free to enter the castle grounds and you can climb the steps up to Laura’s tower. Worth a visit the grounds aren’t that big so don’t need much time there. There’s a museum in the grounds which you have to pay to look round.

I read the information board before going into the castle and it explained to take a right turn to go up to view Laura's Tower. It is a short walk up and the views are fantastic. It would be easy to miss.

If you visit the castle make sure you take the walk up to Laura's Tower. On a clear day, the views of the city and surrounding countryside are amazing!

The little sign points up an uninviting flight of steps, but do go up and you climb to the top of Laura's Tower. From there you have lovely views over the Shropshire countryside and hills of Wales. The castle grounds are free.
