Pleasant surroundings and great scenery

Found the lake while driving around the area. Parking £2 all day. Seemed very busy. Had a great walk around part of the lake and an ice cream. Yes, there were midges, but if you... read more

Very picturesque. Plenty of parking but not free. Some disabled spaces, We ate outside on tables provided for picnics, and sampled some fairly decent fish and chips at a reasonable price. There is a fairly big 'sit down' restaurant in the room that used to house the snack area, as well as the toys, cards and souvenirs etc. Always worth... More

Found the lake while driving around the area. Parking £2 all day. Seemed very busy. Had a great walk around part of the lake and an ice cream. Yes, there were midges, but if you leave them alone they seemed to leave me alone! Can imagine this place does get even more busy on a hot summer day. Plenty to... More

We went for lunch at the restaurant as a lot of the food is gluten free. Very busy, so was glad we booked a table. Great food and good sized portions. Very good value for money. Unfortunately the weather was not great but views and amenities are good.

Looked nice & quite busy but didn't get out of our vehicle due to an invasion of midges millions of them everywhere. Luckily the camp site wasn't over run withy them too. Would possibly go back another time when weve investigated what times of the year the midges aren't about

Had a nice couple of hours , very good facilities. Cafe was very busy for February day. We where there to visit the the optic shop to purchase binoculars. Very helpful staff . The only downside l don't see why you have pay for parking.

Easy to find, plenty of parking and in a lovely area. Went for a walk - the longer of the two - and this was still quite short, about half an hour all round. Would have liked to walk further but I couldn't that day. The short walks would be great with kids and I think the shorter of the... More

Can't get close to the water. Wheel chair access doesn't go beyond the car park. Cafe had turned into a chip shop takeaway with the accompanying aroma.
