Small museum housed in a townhouse near the Assembly Rooms. Some beautiful artefacts. Sadly they had a burglary in April so there is less on display than usual, but they have reduced the entrance fee accordingly, and it is definitely worth a look for £3.

We dropped in on our return from the Royal Crescent Museum. Although a section was closed due to a recent robbery, we still enjoyed a nice collection of Himalayan bronzes from Tibet, Nepal and Mongolia. The gift shop sold very reasonably priced paper fans (a...More

It cost just £4 for the two of us to go in as we had the tour bus tickets. This was great compared to the other museums where the price was from £8 to about £16 each. At the entrance where you pay is a...More

This is an excellent little museum close to the Assembly Rooms at the top end of town. The exhibits are located on three floors, so there are many stairs to climb up and down, but well worth a visit

Must visit! A small version of British museum - East department, but less people around and more quiet rooms. We saw ''Dressed to impress - Netsuke and Japanese Men’s Fashion", it was great!

Found this little museum almost by accident. Not knowing much about east Asian art I learned such a lot while I was there. There was an interesting temporary exhibition of netsuke and the staff were very helpful and happy to explain about the artefacts and...More

This small museum is in Bennett Street, almost opposite the Fashion Museum, in a restored Georgian house. It is the only museum solely dedicated to the arts and cultures of East and South East Asia in the UK. The founder, Brian McElney, worked for more...More
