I'm not into fashion but this exhibition was fascinating. The detail given and explanation of changes over time was good.

Found in the basement of the Assembly Rooms the items on display are in chronological order and information on the exhibits is provided by both audio guide and in writing. To protect the exhibits some 500 years old the lighting is low but this does not prevent you from seeing the fantastic handiwork and materials that went into the clothing.... More

Very nice museum if you are interested in clothes through the ages. Personally I found the earlier stuff much more fascinating than the modern things but there is something for everyone. And half way through you can dress up in period styled clothes. Great fun.

One of the reasons we went to Bath was to see this museum. A selection of clothing, men's, women's and children's are on display, with more attention on the time period that was the height of the Spa visiting fashion. Very well preserved, nicely presented and fascinating to see. Well worth the time spent.

There is a comprehensive display of fashion from the last 1600s to more recent times. I think better that the V&A's display collection. The audio guide is excellent. Then on to the cafe, which is very nice.

An enjoyable visit. Some excellent costumes have been so well preserved and beautifully displayed. An excellent way to see how clothing and fashion has changed through the ages

I really enjoyed the museum, especially the audio guide, as you were able to listen to the commentary for each costume/item when you chose. It meant that I had time to take photos or read the displays if i wanted, or I could just listen to the audio and move on straight away. I don't think the visit could be... More

Stunning collection of clothes and shoes from across the centuries plus there's always extras to see - you can go behind the scenes and see articles not on display and there's often wonderful and specific exhibitions. Leave yourself over an hour to wander around. Heaven on hangers.

Great collection of clothes from the 17th century. It is mainly centred around older clothes, with a few more modern pieces. Gave you an idea how tiny many women's waists were. Enjoyed watching some teenage French students trying on women's bonnets!
