A popular spot on our family walks with the little ones we love coming up here for the view. You can see right across bath town centre and beyond. Not loads to see at the castle as such, but worth the hike up north road...More

Providing a nice central Bath view from afar and above and currently located next to the local Golf club, this 1762 folly acts as an interesting landmark in the region. Open access is available via public footpath.

Followed the Bath Skyline from Widcombe.. all up hill but was a lovely hike. Walked along the Skyline through Bath Uni and got to Sham Castle that way. It's right next to the golf club. Lovely view of Bath and a fun walk straight back...More

Sham Castle is, as the name suggests, a sham...there is no castle, it's two towers and a connecting wall that from the front looks like a castle, but behind that fascade it's just the golf club...no castle. To find it follow the signs to the...More

I remember being shown Sham Castle by my parents when I was a small boy - it was lit up at night on the hillside and was a truly awesome sight. Fast forward over 60 years and I still find it reassuring to know I...More

It's not the easiest place to find or get to. But if the weathers nice it's a good place for a picnic and view the city below

The Sham Castle is just a folly, looking good just in pictures and at the front view, but when you go in the back, it's dissapointing. Anyway, the view is beautiful from there.
