The drive to Cheddar Gorge is worth it on it's own. Beautiful mountains with sheep or goats climbing up the side! Makes for great pictures. Really fun shops with souvenirs, tasty homemade fudge and mulled wine. Tickets are affordable and expire after 1 Yr, so...More

First visit with some friends who were local to the area. We accessed the climb via the Jacobs ladder steps and followed the worn clay path up and up. It's all open, in terms of there being no fencing away from the rock face, so...More

I came here with my family (wife and two daughters) during the summer. It was a lovely day (not too hot and not too cold). We'd paid to park in one of the car parks in Cheddar itself and then visited one of the caves,...More

The gorge is the real attraction here. It's awe inspiring from the road and also from the cliffs up top. Just a place to enjoy for the nature. You don't have to do any of the touristy things to appreciate the gorge itself.

Lovely place to both visit or stay. We rented a cottage in this lovely place, the gorge is magnificent. Not far to really lovely dog friendly beaches.

It was a glorious day so we walked up Jacobs Ladder and then around the cliff tops in order to get a beautiful view of the surroundings. We thought it was well worth it but it is best done in good weather.

Walking along the road has to be done carefully as there are limited pavements. Saying that, you do get up close to the rock formations and watch the rock climbers.

We had driven through the gorge a few years ago but didn’t have time to visit. We found time this weekend to go back, both were very impressed by Gough’s Cave, well lit, audio guide allows you to look and see things at your own...More
