We rode the strawberry line right through to Cheddar on our bikes, it was fantastic! Stunning countryside, reasonably easy ride and well maintained track. The whole track is well signposted and apart from a short stretch through the medieval town of Axebridge, it's all traffic...More

We walked from Chedder to Yatton, the path is easy to follow and as it follows a disused rail way track its relatively flat. Be aware that there are two busy main roads to cross, A38 and A370. Also a couple of places where you...More

A fantastic former railway track now perfect for traffic free cycling and walking. The line is very well maintained and there are lots of points of interest along the way from the Thatchers Orchards to the spooky Shute Shelve tunnnel. It's all traffic free from...More

The scenery is out of this world, my father lives in winscombe and we walked most of the strawberry line, plenty of wildlife for my little avid adventurer to enjoy!

The adaption of the Strawberry line into a cycle path from Yatton to Cheddar is great traffic free cycle route. However there are sections where two very busy major roads have to be crossed, A38 & A370, as well as riding on roads for the...More

Bike ride with a not so confident 8 year old, not great, the fact that it isn't a complete cycle path was a disaster! If you go from Cheddar, you have to actually go through Axbridge town, one minute you are going downhill in a...More

My partner and I took our 8 year old daughter for her first long bike ride. She is still a little wobbly on her bike but the strawberry line is perfect for all abilities. The path is smooth and makes for a enjoyable ride. We...More

If you like going for a bike ride, but hate battling with traffic and pot holes on the roads, the Strawberry Line is for you! It's an old railway line so is largely flat, and the scenery is gorgeous.

A well maintained, ex-railway route (thank you Dr Beeching).Only walked part of it but included the tunnel and and an abandoned station. Obviously very popular with locals and tourists. Tons of views and wildlife.

We cycled from Cheddar to Yatton and back along the Strawberry Line. Axbridge is worth a stop, the farmers' market was a bonus. There wasn't much to interest us at Yatton but we were fascinated by the preserved station at Sandford where we enjoyed good...More

Yes, the old station of Sandford and Banwell is just of the A368 at Sandford, it is only open on weekends and Bank Holidays. It is well worth a visit, and also a walk along the old railway line. The Railway Inn at... More

While there are sections of the route open in Wells it currently does not connect through to Cheddar and Yatton. You can join a small part of it at Haybridge.
