wonderful spiritual retreat

A wonderful place to visit for spiritual upliftment. The gardens were well kept and stunning with plenty of areas for quiet contemplation.

Just needed some time-out time in a well-loved sacred space - found it, in gentle rain, and found some solace on a well-placed bench, sharing moment with confident sparrows and healing waters. A lovely unfussy and friendly welcome, and freedom simply to be. Might be busier in Summer, but 'twas just the thing yesterday. Thank you.

Very Peaceful! You can spend an hour here and feel the peace or you could spend hours! its a place that you can relax! enjoy the flora and drink the healing waters. We bought a bottle and brought some water home. It tastes like blood because of the iron.

Quiet and tranquil, not too much to see so not too much to say really. You can taste the water from the spring, but I would not recommend it, as it tastes very strongly of iron.

Stopped off after climbing the Tor and what a place! It cost us £11 with gift aid to get in for 2 people and to also purchase a large bottle for collecting the water from the Lions Head in the garden. Beautiful grounds and zones, places to sit and meditate, places to paddle and bathe in the healing waters, places... More

The Chalice Well differs from other gardens in that it is not the plants, but the water features that they act as a decoration for, which are the main attraction for visitors. The garden is divided into several sections, each with it's own purpose. At the bottom is an open lawn area next to the Vesica Pool, the largest of the... More

This is one of those "If we say it enough it'll be true " places. They even link the well to the chalice supposedly used at the last supper! Yes there is a well. It's in what looks like someone's back garden. There are no proven historical facts about the well, only 'it's believed to have been' . It is... More
