A stunning building and brought to life by the free tour guide( a lady ) who loved the place. Visit the library and see the chained books. Walk round the cloisters , go into the chapter house, wow at the Jessy window and think of...More

The photos both of the exterior and interior of Wells Cathedral do not do the building or area justice, you need to see for yourself. A friend told me that as my wife is interested in Medieval Cathedrals this was one not to miss. He...More

Cathedral and Bishops Palace grounds are stunningly beautiful. Gardens and water features of the Bisops Palace are well worth making extra time for if visiting the Cathedral

It's a great place for a day out - the cathedral is beautiful, and it is in a small, beautiful friendly city. You can walk right around the mediaevel moat surrounding the cathedral grounds.

Parking other than disabled can be some distance- try South Street and walk through the back doubles to the Market Place. No entrance fee to the Cathedral but donations ‘expected’. Fewer memorials inside than say Exeter (they tender to be in the Cloisters) but some...More

Beautiful cathedral - definitely one of my favourites. The interior is absolutely stunning - tranquil and ornate in equal measure. The clock with it's jousting knights on horseback which perform on the quarter hour is great fun to watch. Entrance is remarkably free, however well...More

Whilst the Cathedral was seeking a voluntary donation we made a reasonable cash donation that was appreciated. The outside is amazing but you need to tour inside as well. So much to see and enjoy about the building.

Pleasant to visit and it be donations. Was happy to donate rather than be 'charged'. Very decorative. Nice to have way out past shop - not through it!

The lady on the entrance ask if you like to donate. You can donate inside if you prefer or say no thank you. The money from the cafe also goes into donations. The cafe prices are very reasonable and good quality.
