The outside is just as magnificent to look at as the inside. You can feel the history of this place as you walk up the aisles stepping on flagstones with names and dates chiseled in of who is lying beneath. Reading these alone will take you on a tour of times past.... Fascinating stuff. Excellent venue to save for a... More

We recently visited Wells Cathedral well worth a visit, they have a suggested donation policy which is very fair. Nice coffee shop although we only had a coffee the food looked very good.

The hour long guided tour was of an excellent standard, with interesting historical background to the extraordinary beauty of the Cathedral.

One of the most beautiful cathedrals you will ever see. I can't remember the name, but the stone A frame supporting the roof is quite astonishing! Cafe is very good and peaceful. The gift shop is very good too.

Took my sister and my niece. My niece is 4 and she loved exploring the "magic castle" Absolutely beautiful historic site.

We visited here on Monday January 16. When you first see the outside of the building the size of it is quite astonishing for such a small city. Whilst it is 'free entry' to the cathedral you are encouraged to make a donation which is fair enough. We had the good fortune to arrive just as a guided tour was... More

In the area for few days break so popped to Wells and went to the Cathedral and boy what a surprise!! The architecture is simply outstanding and the tour guide pointed out lots of really interesting snippets of history. Never seen anything like the scissor arches which were installed in the thirteenth centry to hold up the tower. After tour... More

Magnificent cathedral, well worth a visit. The view of the cathedral from Sadler Street is superb. The stained glass windows were beautiful and there was a wonderful sense of peace as we walked around. We were lucky enough to hear a singer practising and her beautiful voice soared up and made our experience very special indeed.

One of England's treasures! The scissor arches are an archetectual gem. Whilst getting to Wells isn't easy, the town is gorgeous. Essentially untrampled on and quaint. I only wish the Cathedral library was open on the weekends. Make sure to stay for Evensong - the world famous choir is brilliant!

Beautiful from the outside and equally as impressive on the inside. Well worth a small donation to take a look! Nice little gift shop inside too.
