We are National Trust, and our concern is what is going to happen, now that responsibility is no longer shared by the County Council & National Trust. I resent having to pay for parking, being National Trust. However the grounds are superb, and the House excellent.

You will be pleased to take time out to discover the attractions of the National Trust's fine mansion set amidst beautiful and historic parkland. Former home of the illustrious Anson family (Lord Lichfield) this handsome building houses treasure trove of memorabilia.

A great night with friends to watch jools Holland. We sat on the grass in front of the building and were royally entertained - we took a picnic and the wine flowed freely. The weather helped but it was a spectacular afternoon. Not quite sure the effect that the National Trust taking back the reins(from the local authority) will have... More

The National Trust (original owners, after receiving the Estate in Death duties) have now taken back the estate from Stafford council. They are in the final throws of a refurbishment and are expected to reopen in March 2017. Having been to an open evening to chat to staff about the NT's plans we are looking forward to viewing the 'new'... More

This magnificent building can be seen from the canal and it is incredibly impressive. The hall was not open for us to go inside today but we thoroughly enjoyed what we saw and will come back to see inside another time

We have always seen signs for Shugborough on the motorway but never went in. This time we stopped by and had a lovely time. The gardens and small crafts places were great. The working kitchen was brilliant. The house was nice. Had a great time. Thanks

Visited Shugborough to see if this would be the ideal venue for my wedding...... the gardens were very pleasent lovely walks and gardens. I took my mother we took the small train that runs around the grounds ... which was a great help as it would have been to far from the car park for her to walk. Sadler i... More

I'm so happy the national trust have taken this house back as it is in need of updating, everything needs attention, that said we love visiting this place and walking around the grounds. It always bugged me you can't visit the farm on national trust and you couldn't pay to go see it separate from the house either. It's a... More

Living nearby to Shugborough, we feel particularly fortunate: the landscaped gardens and forests in the grounds are just perfect for family walks. For visitors from furthe afield, there's paid-for entrance to a model farm, large play area and stately home so something for family members of every age.
