We were in Bury St Edmunds for a day trip, and part of the day had to be taken up by viewing the Cathedral. How the ancients ever managed to carry out works of this nature and on this scale eludes me, the building works,...More

St Edmundsbury Cathedral - Central town location - just had a brilliant makeover immaculately done - tea room and toilets incorporated for convenience - disable access - town has lots of parking.

A great treat to see such a well preserved and renovated Cathedrall. The recently restored wood in the tower is especially impressive. Well worth spending half an hour when visiting Bury St Edmunds.

Visited at the time of the Xmas market. The carol services provide a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the markets and the building itself is an interesting place to walk around. There's a nice gift shop attached too.
