A tradition pub which is hard to find these days. Welcoming and friendly bar staff. Excellent value at under £3 a pint. Local brews well kept. Will be back!

Entertainment prospects: Try pushing your way to the bar through the assembled sullen regulars. Summary: The pub where nobody laughs. Might enjoy...More

Consistently as it should be, this real-ale venue is how pubs used to be - no frills, a place to chat and offering a wide range of delicious beers. Roger, the characterful landlord, has obviously got the formula right in that - I read -...More

Landlord very welcoming to large group of drinkers at 9.45pm on a Wednesday. Always lots of people there. Real ale pub but serves wine luckily! Artisan bread for sale at £1 per loaf.

A proper pub - fantastic beers, great landlord, Roger, with huge personality and takes massive pride in all his beers. How a pub should be.
