Good price and a quick whizz round the city.

Firstly, a quick couple of bits of info: tickets are £8 per adult, there are 17 stops on the tour and the full duration is 1 hour. I agree with other comments about the... read more

Starts at the bus stop opposite the Central station. Takes about an hour and gives you a bit of history and an idea of what there is to see in Newcastle. We did this first, and it helped us get our bearings. The commentary is good. The bus driver was very friendly and remembered us when we got back on.... More

A decent enough trip around the city, but not great value for money. Yes, it is less expensive than City Sightseeing in a lot of other cities, however this is a fairly limited service, operating one route only, and only running every 30 minutes during the summer peak... not exactly 'hop on hop off'. Especially as the buses only run... More

Not expensive at £6 for a Senior Citizen I will concede, but compared to a number of other Hop on Hop off buses in other cities in the U.K and in other countries this was pretty average. Bus had seen better days, commentary was audible if you were sat downstairs or in the front section only of upstairs.Commentary only in... More

Firstly, a quick couple of bits of info: tickets are £8 per adult, there are 17 stops on the tour and the full duration is 1 hour. I agree with other comments about the difficulty of finding the stops as to where to get on it. In addition, it's quite difficult to hear the commentary if you sit in the... More

If you only have a few hours to see the city this is an excellent way to do it. Informative and engaging commentary, friendly driver. Does not run as frequently as in some cities and it was difficult to find where to board, but otherwise fine and reasonable value for money.

We paid, cash only, on the bus. £6 per pensioner. It was a good day, mostly sunny and warm. The commentary, when it could be heard, was informative and fun. Shame headphones are not issued, as it was in English only. However for a total one hour ride it was good value. For our first visit to the city it... More

Where to start... I regularly take these tours when travelling and they're normally fantastic. This one needs a lot of attention from the franchise as it's damaging their brand. - very limited availability, running for only a few hours a day with a 30 min gap between buses. - couldn't take credit card payment on the bus, no sellers on... Very engaging commentary and quite informative, but frequently drowned out by the very loud screeching from the brakes of a bus that's well past its use by date. Shows a total lack of investment by parent company running this franchise in Newcastle. Pity because the route gives you a great introduction to Newcastle and Gateshead. Couldn't the commentary have fillers... More

Having been on some of these tours in other cities we decided to do one nearer to home and found it was informative as all the others, would recommend to anyone, visitor or local. The information was well presented and there was stuff in there I didn't know.

Newcastle is compact. Start your trip by doing the open top bus trip and decide where you want to go. Our driver was really friendly and helpful, and there was so much more to see that we expected. It was great.
