This is an excellent place to go to with large groups of people (and as a couple). The football was on and we stayed for the boxing. Cheap enough round and good range

A super Newcastle pub that's deceptively close to the Central railway station and Chinatown. It's also en route between the station and St.James' Park so naturally gets very busy on NUFC home match days. My most recent visit was a Sunday afternoon in June so...More

We popped in after going to the theatre great atmosphere and friendly. Large bar area with plenty seats and the decor with the very large roof stained glass domed ceilings are fabulous. What puts the finishing touches to this bar is the choice of drinks...More

Called in for a drink before our convert at the Tyne Theatre, staff were friendly, service was good, great selection of draught ales & cider, better prices than in town, one of a dying breed of traditional pubs, really busy, clearly popular with a lot...More

Popped in here after the Theatre, as it's right next door. A very old pub with amazing ceilings and lights. A good selection of real ale, lagers etc. Quite a basic, what you'd term a proper pub. However, there was a quiz on and the...More

Regularly end up in this pub during the week with a group of friends after rehearsing in the theatre next door. We're never to much trouble and the bar staff are always friendly and have a crack on with us! Could be a bit cheaper...More

This traditional pub makes such a change from the theme-style chain pubs that seem to have taken over every city centre. The Bodega has a nicely understated charm that uses its architectural merits to the full by creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. The selection...More
