Been here a couple times when we visit Newcastle and still as good. Really friendly barman, good selection of beers, vinyl always being played on old player, but mostly love the interior. Doesn't look like much on the outside but looks can be deceiving!
Been going to this pub for a few years now.
Like stepping back in time, lovely staff and great clientele every time we are in.
During the week they do a home made sandwich and crisps for £2.... yes £2.

Lovely old style pub with a great selection of ales and a good atmosphere. Apparently it's the second oldest in Newcastle and it feels like it's got a good heritage, love the stained glass and we sat in a little booth.
Have been to Newcastle on 4 occasions we always visit this pub great pub for a pint of good beer friendly bad staff only ever visited in the day time but would recommend not to everyone’s taste but we love the ambiance
A group of us met here before dinner. Absolutely spoilt for choice, so as usual in decent pubs like this, I try & work my way along the beers in half pints ! However, once trying the (Wylam ?) Blonde (I forget the brewery name)...More
