This was an awesome place....it had a beautiful patio and lots of history. You can see the theatre from the pub and the food was excellent. The portions are large and can easilly be split. It was a quiet day when we arrived there but I am sure this is a stop that should not be missed. Great history inside... More

Lovely pub just along from the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, which also allows dogs. Lovely pub un-spoilt by the big chain name so has character along with walls full of young actors who have performed at the RSc and have gone on to become household names. most actors still stop for a drink here after a night time performance. Friendly... More

We went for a walk along the Avon River and had just checked out the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. 200m downstream we spotted the 'Dirty Duck' and noted it as a good place to have dinner. On our walk back the 'Black Swan' was in it's place. After a confusing minute or two we discovered that the 'Dirty Duck' and the... More

Came in for some lunch and had soup and a sandwich. All good value for money and lovely setting along the river. Lots of pictures of all the actors that have visited the pub which was interesting to browse at. Apparently famed for having two names and the actors visiting after their performances at the theatres. It is a Greene... More

There were six of us and we all enjoyed our meal. Staff were amiable and courteous. We would revisit should we be in Stratford upon Avon again.

After a dreadful visit we were given a gift card to return. I wish we had not bothered. Last time I commented on my mash potato being frozen their response was that no body had complained about their mash being frozen so obviously they serve frozen mash potato. Our meals last time was very grim and this time was no... More

We were looking for somewhere to eat prior to our night at the RSC and thought this would be a good place. Fearing it would be super busy being a Friday evening and located very close to the RSC we got here early and managed to get a table though noted reservations were taken and we could have booked. Although... More

Wife and sisters/nieces voted to celebrate eldest sisters 65th. Good food and great time was had by all, except the member wishing for Malibu (non available???). However a good time was had by all and the staff see memory men, write nothing down, we were a table of 10. Would they return , yes.

We were there at 7:00pm on a Sunday evening. There are around 20 tables in the large restaurant at the back and only 4 were used while we were there. It took around 15 minutes before anyone came to the table to even ask us for drinks and in the end I went to the bar. Eventually our food order... More

First time i've eaten here. The restaurant was busy, but cosy and warm. The menu was great. Fish and chips, huge beef ribs and lamb shanks all took my eye. Quite traditional english pub food. The meal arrived in less than 5 minutes, very fast. Wine selection was good, staff were friendly. Good value for money and would eat here again.
