Somewhere good to go to escape the hustle and bustle of the city - coffee shop has a terrace, great for a sunny afternoon

After a stroll in the gardens, we called in & founded the menu very disappointed & boring. The usual mass catering dishes of the 80's quiche & salads & a variety of shop bought cakes. Why oh why ? Boring sandwiches in sliced bread . I like visiting the gardens but wouldn't choose to eat there again.

If you like creepy mansions, smell of care homes, mouldy carpets and streams full of blue toxic pollution killing all the plants they're supposed to be feeding, come right in, this place will make you feel like at home. Try to sedate yourself with the smell of the flowers and scent of the blue water, just don't mind the golf... More

Dear HonestReviewGuy83 Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Winterbourne House and Garden. We like to be honest at Winterbourne too, and can state the following: - we're not a creepy mansion - the house doesn't smell of care homes - there's not a mouldy carpet in sight - there aren't any blue toxic polluted streams... Charming little place, a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. The house was smaller than I expected but very nicely displayed. A surprising collection of magic lanterns was interesting! Gardens were bigger than anticipated, lots of little areas with different planting. Admittedly not too much to see in February but still a pleasant hour spent pottering around, and... More

Interesting arts and crafts house built for John Nettlefield founder of GKN. Nice gardens with a walk into the woods leading to a lake overlooking Edgbaston Golf Club.

Full disclosure, I work for the University of Birmingham, who owns Winterborne. But I have no personal or professional interest in saying what I do. There is something for everyone here. There is a lovely botanical garden, The house itself is lovely to look around, also, the tea room is rather nice, and the food very good. Also, if you... More

Really love place to relax in the summer and wander around in the sun! Inside of the house is really interesting too, and the cafe offer some lovely coffees and cakes.
