Venue: Hotel Du Vin Birmingham. We didn't know what to expect but didn't know it was large group event but we should of read up when booked. Rob was/is really good. Knew his stuff and entertaining and good host. Negatives? It was cold dark day outside and was dark and cold in the room. We could hardly read the wine... More

Dear Steve, I am sorry the day didn’t meet your expectations. I always aim to ensure each customer really does enjoy their experience, and I am disappointed I failed to do that for you. I could have done something about lunch and the heating for you, if asked. I was actually asked to turn one of the heaters by another... More

This was a birthday present from my lovely friend Zoe, who I went with. All I can say is that it was absolutely amazing, I feel like I have learnt so much. Rob was excellent in his presentation, keeping it very light hearted for those of us who not wine buffs but at the same time informative, not easy as... More

I went with my Father recently to the Station Pub in Sutton Coldfield to a 'Rioja and Bordeaux' tasting event hosted by Geoff Bolton of the Birmingham Wine School. We both had a relaxed, convivial and informative evening which we both thoroughly enjoyed and would willingly recommend to others. Geoff's knowledge and his ability to convey that knowledge is excellent.

Hi Karl, thank you for your review. My two favourite red wines in Bordeaux and Rioja. Glad you both enjoyed the evening. Geoff is excellent, not only with his wine knowledge, but his brilliant way of getting the message across. Many thanks again, Rob More

Rob made everyone feel at ease and gave a great day of wine tasting ( not skimpy measures) and education (not too intense). The lunch was also really good

Organised as a Father's Day present by my wife - what a fabulous idea! We had an amazing day, drank some great wine, ate some lovely food and learnt loads from Rob. Not an easy job to present to a group of people who are getting more and more tiddly but you did a great job. Highly recommended!

A lovely evening class, we learned a lot about Pinot Noir in a relaxed atmosphere. The wines were really interesting, the food combinations worked well and Nick was a great host. Really enjoyed it and would definitely book another event.

Hi, thank you for your review. Pinot Noir is such a wonderful grape, capable of greatness, and one of my top two grapes, but sadly not liked by many, so I am very happy you enjoyed the evening. Nick is equally wonderful... Regards, Rob More

it was my belated birthday present, and I really enjoyed it! The setting was excellent, learnt quite a bit about Spanish and Portuguese wines... and it so happened that the atmosphere of the evening was what I needed this day. Big thanks to Rob for organising the event and letting the evening flow lightly, enjoyably.

Fantastic evening and a superb way to spend my birthday. We enjoyed a selection of Spanish and Portuguese wines and the tutor was very knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and definitely one of the better wine tasting events I've been to.

Enjoyed a lovely evening sampling six wines with a wide variety of cheeses. I am definitely no expert and was a little worried that I would be found out! However the evening was very informal and relaxed with the emphasis seemingly on having an enjoyable time rather than testing your wine knowledge. Geoff Bolton led the evening and he did... More
