I visited the gallery yesterday and absolutely loved it. I’m a visitor in the area and took advantage of wonderful the half-price entry on Tuesdays. Together with the buildings, a gracious Queen Anne townhouse and its airy modern extension, the collection has to be one of the best in the UK (realising I might be biased as I love twentieth... This gallery is housed in a handsome Queen Anne house and a modern extension. Its core is the modern art collection of the late Walter Hussey, former Dean of the cathedral. At our visit there was a temporary exhibition of 'classicism in twentieth century British art'. For a fairly small town the art on display is very impressive. A visit... More

If you're going to Chichester, find time to visit the Pallant House Gallery which has regular shows of nationally-important artists. It has nice cafe and a very well-stocked art bookshop.

The various themes / artists are inspiring and well presented. Although I am not a keen art fan, it was a most enjoyable visit.

This is a very interesting, ever changing gallery which is well worth a visit. I have seen several special exhibitions here and have been to an evening talk. Although I live near Chichester I often forget to keep an eye out for what's on at the gallery. I think the advertising could be better and doesn't seem to appear in... More

If you have time, please visit this amazing art gallery, which is part -housed in a stunning Queen Anne style house in a quiet backstreet of Chichester, West Sussex. A beautiful gallery which is always presenting interesting new exhibitions. A downstairs print room displays a small constantly changing section of quality prints and photographs while upstairs the extensive permanent collection is shown in contrasting rooms ranging from atmospheric panelled domestic interiors to airy modern gallery spaces. Always a great visit!

I managed to visit this gallery on a day it was free to the public, and very much enjoyed both the special exhibitions (notably Christopher Wood) and the main collections of modern British art. Huge variety of artists represented in the collection include Andy Goldsworthy, Edward Burra, Paul Nash, the Nicholsons, Sickert, Eileen Agar, Joan Eardley, Paolozzi and Peter Blake.... More
