Visited the first time for twenty-odd years to see the new Hockney gallery. Worth it just for that - an intimate insight into the artist's life and some of his brilliant works. Very well done. The adjacent rooms are most imaginatively hung with visiting works...More

was the highlight. We have many galleries like this around the country and most of them provide an unexpected delight or two. The Hockney Gallery provides some great insight, particularly on his early life and work. And there is a good Lowry painting to see.

Just started is a David Hockney exhibition. I love his early stuff becausse I recognise 1960's Bradford and I enjoy the East coast of Yorkshire, but I find some of his stuff a bit strang and difficult to understand

Make sure you take time for a good browse through the rest of the museum, but spend time in the Hockney exhibition - it's most definitely worth it!

Recently heard about the Hockney gallery here, so had to visit. The exhibition is small but made a welcome change to the regular Saltaire. Some interesting mixed media art on display. I enjoyed seeing an original Warhol among more traditional paintings. The buildings, grounds and...More

Cartwright Hall houses Bradfor'd municpal collections of art. The collection with its roots in Victorian and Edwardian philanthropy is everything that one might expect but added to that is a superb collection of prints. I especially enjoyed viewing the gallery display of Bradford artists and...More
