I find this place & Leeds council started charging more and more for residents/ visitors visiting various places of interest & old historic sites. Additionally, the museum is literally 2min walk from a local council area with thousands of ruff & long term benefit seekers. I wasn't comfortable leaving my car parked in the area.

We visited here as we had been on a disappointing trip to the Yorkshire sculpture park we needed somewhere close and that wouldn't take us to long to look around . What an excellent place we picked, we joined in on a talk on all the wool and weaving machines which was very detailed and interesting and even got to... More

This is a very worthwhile museum to visit. There are a wide variety of displays covering many industries. The old time cinema is a particular treat. The setting on the canalside is lovely. Tea and coffee are on sale. And there is a large area to consume your own food. The admission prices are reasonable.

We spent a Sunday afternoon here as a couple but could of stayed longer if we'd of had the children with us. The museum was relatively cheap to get into and staff were very pleasant. The museum itself was very well laid out with a clear path set out of the way to go round. All the exhibitions were informative... More

As my wife and I were spending the weekend in Leeds, we decided to take in a spot of history and culture at the museum! This was a fantastic place to visit especially as we both knew nothing about Leeds and its history! Great place for children doing school projects!

If you are interested in the history of the woollen industry in Yorkshire this is a good choice. Plenty to see with friendly knowledgeable staff. When you enter the main part of the museum the smell alone takes you back to the working mills of years gone by. They cater for planned school visits and put on special themes and... More

Armley Industrial Museum is a very interesting place, with a variety of historical features from Leeds' past, ranging from the working spinning mill to an old-fashioned cinema! We visited on a wet day, but will return soon to explore the outside area beside the canal.

We went to visit this museum after seeing it on a local TV program, the information on display and the variety of exhibits is very good and is quite varied. We spent a nice couple of hours here one rainy Sunday afternoon and would definitely visit again. The only negative we had were that two of the three staff who... More

Looking or something to do on a dull Saturday we decided to visit here. As we arrived the chap at the entrance directed us to the managers house and then when we returned he started the spinning machine. The staff were really helpful and knowledgable. There are lots of signs relating to the items on display and my 7 and... More

We spent a couple of hours here and it was wonderful! We had the pleasure of a talk from one of the most knowleable gentleman I've ever met, we now know all about what it takes to make cloth, it was brilliant !
