Lovely area to visit on a nice day. It was a fun stop on our road trip to walk around a bit and enjoy some green space. For being almost 1,000 years old the Abbey is in remarkable shape and condition. It's like stepping into a time machine. It's free and doesn't take very long to visit.

So much of the original structure is left, you get a really good idea of what it must have been like when it was in use. There are a number of helpful boards around letting you know what the area was used for. There are some good models for you to see it as it was. There is a shop... More

We and my other half visited this abbey after our little excursion to Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Our original intention was to visit Kirkstall Abbey, but we decided that it would be a great idea to visit the Park as well with that. So it turned into a great day. The reason for our visit was to watch Pan's Labyrinth, as... More

A marvelous medieval abbey in a huge park. One of the more ancient thing of Leeds. You can live a romantic atmosphere between the ruins of the church! Really suggestive!

I have been going here since I was a child and love it! it is a gem of a place on the outskirts of Leeds on the banks of the river Aire, with lovely grounds for a walk and a picnic, lots going on here throughout the year as well.

Coming from Leeds and living local to the abbey in the past, I have visited the abbey many many times. Take a walk around the abbey, visit the museum and enjoy a spot of lunch there too. Enjoy

Lovely place to walk round, with parking close by. The abbey is impressive and we loved the museum afterwards (which had lots to look at and was very interesting). We will be back to try the walk down along the river, when the weather is better.

Visited in December for the Leeds Hidden Market hosted by sneaky Experience. What a great location. Despite it being a little damp under foot it was a pleasant walk round. At that time it was bustling with stalls and entertainment toilets available at that time and staff were friendly.
