Went on a very squelchy mud walk with three kids under six, an Irish setter and a grumpy husband. All the paths were really bad and it was quite hard work with a two year...thankfully left the pushchair behind. Interesting walk to the pompocali. Would do again but would head in the summer. Some bits you have to keep the... More

Not many clubs, bars or cinemas. View of the sky at night is clear. Best served with kebabs and ice cold beer.

Excellent variety of wild flowers and many solitary bees nesting in the sandy walls between the heather on the Pompocali site.

The short walk is in a reasonably nice bit of woodland not far from the centre of Leeds, so worth doing if you are relatively close by but not worth going out of your way for. Signage could be improved and the pompocali itself is OK but again dont have high expectations, its an excavation around a big oak tree.... More

If you are looking for a nice walk in the woods with the kids this is the perfect place. Parking can be busy, but overall worth the trip

Had a very long seeming walk recently through Thorner and Hetchell Woods etc from and back to the Bingley Arms car park as described on Yorkshirewalks.org website but needed a map as well rather than just the info on the Yorkshirewalks website as it was confusing to know which way to turn at times. It seemed like more than eight... More

Visit this wood quite regularly as it's near to where I live. No matter what the weather and no matter what the season, there's always plenty to take it be it the flora or the fauna and how they change throughout the year. It's a good place to link in with the various public footpaths in and around. For a... More

We walked to Pompocali from the A58 Wetherby Road. There is no sign for a footpath but it is just past Wood Lane heading toward Leeds and there is a bus stop just past it.The path is very muddy if it has rained and virtually impassable in wet weather.Today being very hot it was passable and well worth the walk.Pompocali is... Very nice local woods with pleasant walks and climbing craggs. Pompocali is thought to be a Roman settlement and provides a good walk with fun for the kids.
