Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family attractions in Leeds and only three miles from the city centre. At Tropical World you can take a trek through the rainforest; stopping off briefly in the outback of Australia before a quick excursion through the desert, and all in the same morning!

It is home to some old friends that include rare birds, crocodiles, butterflies, bats, spiders, snakes and the meerkats - the cutest family in Leeds.

It re-opened in March 2015. This follows some stunning renovations that include the aquarium area transformed into a new Amazon themed zone where you can see new residents including piranhas and salamanders.

Need to improve the condition of the place. Very sad to see the animal to live in that way. If they are out of funding should close the place and rescue the animals, or send them to a better place.

I have been here a few times in the past and really enjoyed it. The butterflies were impressive as were the other animals. It does need a bit of something to make it more. There needs to be more about the conservation of the animals, a better marking of the desired route (laminated A4 sheets don't cut it) and perhaps... More

Haven't been here for years. What a great change, interesting displays and a firm favourite with children, especially as they can feed the fish and Terrapins. Great cafe too.

This is a favourite trip on a cold/wet day, as it's very muggy inside where the butterflies are. Great to see a range of species from different parts of the world including the popular meerkats, snakes etc You can use your Leeds card or Breeze card to receive discount on admission fees too

We have been here many times over the years. The kids enjoy it, mainly the shop, and it is nice to go to the park and have lunch in the roundhay fox to make more of a day of it. It doesn't take long to get round so if you want a full day of fun, this wouldn't be the... More

Kids loved it, Plenty of exhibits from fish to meerkats. We only went in because of the rain but we loved it. Will be visiting it again as the kids have not stopped talking about it.

Just five pounds to get to this? Superb value for money. We went along, and to be honest I wasn't expecting all that much having visited other topical/butterfly enclosures. What a surprise to find it was in fact absolutely excellent. My two girls loved it. I particularly liked the section with the aquariums which was very well done. The only... More

Would definitely put this as a place to visit, now my second visit and still enjoyed. Took my 1 yr old son who loved the different animals and features. Didn't try the cafe due to heading off elsewhere.
