A beautiful house with amazing views of Salisbury Cathedral. Inside did not disappoint, and is exactly as he left it, helped by the informative stewards in each room. The house displays memorabilia from his former life as a politician and Prime minster, plus his hobbies and passion for music , sailing and art Then stroll through the 2 acre garden,... More

With his reputation now intact, Ted Heath's last home at Arundells is a good way of connecting with the politician who took us into Europe having fought the Nazis. The vast array of political cartoons are rarely funny, but often pointed and poignant in the context of Brexit. The house is beautifully preserved and stocked with gifts and memorabilia from... This house is in a central location by the cathedral. There was an interesting exhibition of cartoons. The house is interesting but did not feel like a home! Volunteers were, if anything, too keen to share information! Gardens were beautiful.

The guided tour is the best way to visit Arundells as there is so much to impart. The house feels warm and comfortable and there is so much to see - paintings, china, political cartoons and sailing memorabilia.

'Arundells' the retirement home of Sir Edward Heath in Salisbury. The home is open to view and is left in aspic as if Sir Edward still lives there, you can visit his dining room set for guests, his music room and the hall showing his remarkable sailing achievements and awards. His study bedroom and military career room with many facts... More

I happened to wander past this place in November last year and realising it was closed for the winter, I checked the website and went back now it's open. I had the benefit of a guided tour which was fascinating. It's like the man himself is still with us as it feels more like you are walking around his home... More

Arundells is one of the houses that surround the great cathedral in Salisbury. It looks pretty from outside the gate but not spectacular. Nonetheless, I ventured in and was very pleased that I did. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the house and the life of former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath, who lived at Arundells. The house... More

The former home of one time Prime Minister Ted Heath (largely responsible for gaining us entry to the Common Market) Far sighted and not too friendly with his successor Iron Lady Thatcher Ted clearly had some good qualities. His house, Arundells, in Cathedral Close, Salisbury looks most interesting but was closed during our visit. As far as I understand it... More
