This was a nice short walk around the island. Not busy even for a Sunday lunchtime stroll. The opening and closing of the locks made it all more interesting.

Unplanned visit to the place and surprisingly we really enjoyed it. Nice place to hang out with nice things to see. The lock was amazing to watch especially there were loads of boats moving in or out. Had a little picnic at the ray mill island and the yes it was a nice day out.

We called in here several times for drinks and once for coffee and a nibble but not a full meal and it is a lovely modern bar and restaurant with a great outside area upstairs when the weather is nice, worth a visit if you are nearby

A beautiful walk along the Thames, suitable for everybody including small kids and families. You can have a picnic surrounded by classic British nature or take photos with the local animals or passing boats. Would definitely recommend.

Watched the birds on the Island area and enjoyed a short walk round. The is a café on the Island but did not use it. Watched the boats go through the lock which we found interesting and on occasions amusing.

Really good walk along the Thames towards Cookham, passing Boulter's lock, then the Cliveden estate, including the boathouse (where some notorious society parties took place) and inland for a little while (the Thames path is blocked for and guides you in that direction) towards Cookham. About an hour to reach Cookham at a leisurely pace with some excellent wildlife on... More
