The Trip up to the restaurant in the old train is quite daunting but it’s still running so I guess it’s okay. The food was impeccable and so was the wine!

We were staying in the apartment above the ticket office for the funicular so got complimentary use during our stay. We took the trip up the hill a couple of times to enjoy a late breakfast at the café at the top of Constitution Hill...More

Brilliantly well preserved Funicular Railway to top of the cliffs in Aberystwyth. Views are spectacular and this is a fun way to let the train take the strain 🛤

Old funicular railway to take you to the top of the cliff with spectacular views over the bay. There's a camera obscura and other entertainment/cafe at the top of the cliff. Marginally cheaper to buy a one way ticket if you want to walk back...More

A must-do if visiting Aberystwyth, this funicular cliff railway is £5 for an adult return ticket. The funicular track is very steep, and it is amongst the longest of it's type in the UK. The best place to sit (or stand) is outside on the...More

A nice trip up the cliff with several activities and great views at the top. A very modest fee. Only gripe is finding somewhere to park.

We chose to forgo the walk back up constitution hill and instead took the cliff railway. A great step back in time and amazing views on the way up. I did think it was a little pricey, £14 return for a family of 4 £13...More

It is not as concrete path, but made up of hard rock the type you would get in most woodland walks, but it can be loose stone. But with walking shoes) trainers should be fine
