Travelling on the Vale of Rheidol Railway is the finest way to see the stunning Rheidol Valley. We pass through wide open fields, woodland and rugged mountain scenery as the line twists and turns clinging to the hillside gradually climbing nearly 700ft (200m)from Aberystwyth to reach our destination at Devil’s Bridge. Birds of prey such as Red Kite and Buzzards are regularly seensoaring high above the valley floor and breathtaking views can beenjoyed by all.

There are several wonderful places to see in Ceredigion, and one of the most memorable is achieved aboard the Vale of Rheidol steam railway. I've done this half a dozen times over the years and although it's not cheap it certainly is worth it. Starting...More

We stayed in the area for a week and decided to do this as it was something we hadn't done before and you are able to take dogs on board. We waited for a sunny day and so glad we did. Lovely little station and...More

It is a nice attraction with excellent view, relaxing and entertaining; however there are time restrictions, no information for the stations through the route and not much to do when you are at the end. Also no good food and refreshments at the end. Therefore...More

A very well run local railway system travelling though some of the most beautiful countryside in West Wales Wending its way around the upper reaches of the hills towards Devil's Bridge we were pulled by a superb little GWR Tank engine

Lovely trip through the Cwmrheidol valley Staff really enjoy their work and it shows Steam trains run on paraffin,so you get the authentic smoke without the soot All the passengers had a big smile on their faces.

6 of us + dog. Open car going but a bit chilly so closed car going back. Great ride with fantastic views. Steps to get on the train are a bit high - but if you ask they will give you a step.

This is a must do steam train trip through stunning valleys with spectacular scenery. The most uncomfortable and worst viewing seats are those in the first class compartment, especially if it is crowded or overbooked. OK if the weather is bad, but the third class...More

Yes but not first class There’s an open one which our dog loved as he could stick his head out and sniff! I think there’s an enclosed 3rd class carriage also if it’s cold
