Well worth a walk to the Castle. Its located up on the head with the War Memorial and has excellent views. Also there are plenty of walls to walk around and for the kids to climb. Also plenty of benches to sit on and admire...More
Although there isn’t much left of the castle itself, the history behind it is impeccable. There is a playgroup situated nearby and a windy path to guide you through the ruins. Not so nice in the cold but lovely on a sunny day!
We always visit here when we're in Aberystwyth. The kids love it, it's free and steeped in history. There's a great park next door and the Winter Wonderland was also in full swing. It's lovely for picnics in the summer as well.

The castle provides lots of useful information about the history of the castle and the town. The castle is well maintained with good views out to sea and over the coastline. It is situated at the end of the promenade.
