One of the many steam train stations. Does have a view to the sea, too! Well worth the effort and you can clearly see that it's been recently renovated.

What a wonderful day trip--we took the Welsh Highland Train and it was reasonable enough that we went first class. The first class car had padded traditional dining chairs, very comfortable, and you could buy refreshments or food for reasonable prices, money which went toward...More

The station is currently being rebuilt, but the ticket office is warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. We're already looking forward to visiting again in 2018.

The railway station is being redeveloped, but pretty basic - a bit of roof to keep the rain off, and almost dead unless there is a train active. But people come for the narrow gauge steam trains - and those are magnificent.... There are only...More

Stunning scenery, totally unspoilt, beautiful. Went to Porthmadog return. Journey takes just over 2 hours each way. Enjoyed Welsh tea on the return journey.
