On a whim... we added this to our Conwy Castle ticket for a combo price and I am so glad that we did! So amazing to think this was built in the 1500’s.

If you visit conwy Plas Mawr is a must. It is so interesting and the audio commentary is both informative and humorous. We have walked past the entrance on many visits and didn’t realise what a wonderful place it is. Maybe suggest better marketing from...More

We hadn't planned to visit this house but dropped in by chance; the advantage of an English Heritage card! Brilliant place and the room stewards were excellent at imparting their knowledge. The short videos on the restoration were amazing to see and the end product...More

Cadw have put a lot of effort into Plas Mawr. The audio commentary is dramatised and very interesting with lots of humour. Very interesting to see colours restored to how they would have been. Good exhibition on medieval health and hygiene!

This example of an authentic, well-preserved Elizabethan home was extremely interesting. The audio guide is very good and made the tour interesting and informative. Take as much or as little time as you would like. We enjoyed our visit.

The finest Elizabethan townhouse in Britain is another gem. The tour and the guides explain in detail the history of the family as well as the process of restoration. One does not feel as if in a museum, but in a real family's home.
