Nice little adventure

Not a lot there really be it's worth it for the kids. Lots of climbing and playing for the kids, with a small climb up a spiral staircase to the top with so lovely views.

Opposite the car park we walked up to and around the castle. The stairways up are (as you would expect) very narrow and there are no safety ropes or railing so very dangerous for young children. Nice views and an appreciation of the accommodation in its time.

Nice place to visit & free as well. Not much there other than the keep but great views of the valley & mountains. Well worth a short, gentle walk to see the scenery.

We stopped off at this castle to have our lunch before heading up Snowdon. Lovely views of Llanberis and a working slate mine, not much really to see about the castle but it is free

The castle itself is small but still great as you can go to the top and take in the beautiful scenery. It's free to visit and is set in a beautiful area. The information is really good! Car park is near but isn't too pricey for an all day ticket.

We stumbled cross Dolbadarn Castle whilst visiting Llanberis during our first visit to Snowdonia. Unsure what to expect, we were very pleasantly surprised. A short uphill walk takes you up to the castle ruins and the surrounding landscape is breathtaking. In one direction the lake and the mountains in the other direction. Small stone spiral steps take you up the... More

This castle is at the back of our hotel and easily accessible, the trees and plants and mountains and lakes and tranquillity make this a special place.

We found this by chance when visiting the Snowden Mountain Railway. It is a short, steep, walk from the car park we used (the one past the lakeside railway which is cheaper than the main car park) and is clearly sign-posted. There is primarily only the main keep that remains of the site but you can climb the steps to... More

Short walk up from town - worth a visit. Good views from the viewing gallery at the top of an aincient spiral staircase encased in the castles walls.

Provides Stunning views of the Quarry. Must go on a sunny day. Building itself is a master piece and a good example of strong structural engineering.
