We were unlucky with the weather and it was rainy and windy not so comfortable outside. By having read reviews, the quay must be great place to visit. We still like the place though.

View of the old docks which have been preserved very well. Variety of boat trips available. Interesting to visit at any time of the year

We went in the middle of one of the rainiest days and still had such a good time! Plenty of places to eat and a nice little location to simply pass the time. The parking is also cheap compared to the rest of Cardiff, perfect for all ages if you're planning a day out!

Mermaid quay is a really nice development of Cardiff docks. There's plenty of places to eat and drink including nice outdoor tables overlooking the bay and barrage, great for summer evenings although often very busy. A nice part of Cardiff and only a 5 minute train journey from queen street station.

First of all, the views down in this area are beautiful at sunset and if you happen to be in the area in December or January you can see the big Christmas tree reflecting in the water. There are lots of shops and restaurants of all types so I would definitely recommend stopping by here at least for dinner one... More

We took the boat from Bute Park to Cardiff Bay. Had a good walk round and visited Norwegian Church, Assembly Building. Also boat trips leave from here round the bay to the barrage. Most chain restaurants are here, so plenty of choice to eat.
