This is a great place to go for a good walk. The staff at the visitor centre are friendly, helpful and informative. Could do with a dog waste bin, as didn't like having to carry it home! Other than that it was worth the visit.

A pleasant walk around wetlands area near Newport. As this is a RSPB site I suppose it is more interesting if you like bird watching which I don't! Nice morning walk anyway. Need some bins though as bought an icecream and did not see a...More

We live very close by the reserve, this was our first visit and we won't be going back. You enter the car park only to find out after you've entered ,that although the reserve is free to get in, you have to pay £3 to...More

Spent a few hours wandering the paths around the Reserve. Definitely recommend. 3 quid for car park, which seems annoying but the reserve seems pretty well maintained, so fair enough. Remember change for parking machine, but paying by card in the centre was easy enough....More

We love to visit the wetlands often, sometimes over the weekend so we can go for long walks or just explore, and sometimes after school for a quick visit and picnic. My children like to look for wildlife and love to spot different birds and...More

We visit the Wetlands frequently, all year around. The lakes themselves are the habitat for different species of birds, fishes and animals, although not in great abundance. In fact with a pair of binoculars you are more likely to see more birds on the foreshore....More

Nice playground and walk, kids loved the zip wire and bouncy bridge seeing all the birds. Nice cafe with good selection. Signage could be improved as difficult to see on bends and behind trees and £3 parking charge is a little off putting.

Nice and clean bit could do with a few bins being provided and maybe some extra picnic tables. Daughter liked the ducks and was able to use her scooter.

Safe yes but quite a long ride! I would guess about 5 miles. You could get a bus from the bus station which is about a 5 min walk from the train station!
