This is a well-organized little museum focused exclusively on the life of the poet Dylan Thomas who died in 1953. It seems to be complete with manuscripts, letters, photos, video and sound. It's free, too. Don't miss it if you go to Swansea. Refreshments and gifts are available.

Enjoyed the visit. It is based in the old docks area which is now part of the bay. It is housed in an old building which once was owned by the army. Nice to see and hear some of the history of Dylan Thomas and his life. Entrance is free and things for children to do.

The Dylan Thomas Centre, located in Swansea's old docklands, presents a fascinating insight into the life and work of Dylan Thomas. It will be of interest to anyone, regardless of prior background, who wanted to know more about Dylan Thomas. But I think one would get more out of it if one has already read at least Thomas' best known... More

I'm not at all familiar with Dylan Thomas's work but this is a fabulous place with tremendous variety including sound recordings and personal letters. I didn't know he had been so good when he was so young. Anyone visiting Swansea should make sure they come here.

Brief visit but this is a place we would have happily stayed at longer. Although we were not prior enthusiasts of Dylan Thomas, following this visit we listened avidly to the Burton and full cast recording of Under Milk Wood.

Respect and admiration in abundance are reflected in every feature of the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea, Wales. The carefully assembled exhibits include black and white photographs, diary entries, book covers and excerpts from Thomas’ early projects, and voice recordings of those who knew him and worked with him. We especially enjoyed the storyboards that showed all the cross connections... More
