Swansea marina and the museums situated nearby is definitely the best bit of Swansea. The rest, including the city centre is not very pleasant. Wouldn't recommend visiting Swansea unless you really have to

The station is a good 30 minutes walk to the Marriott hotel. It can be done, but would recommend a taxi.
