We were at a performance which included a bowl of chilli which was very good and excellent value at £6!! The Black Box is a great space for Belfast and puts on a vast array of entertainment for all ages and from all walks of life. Keep up the good work

If you want a trendy 'wine bar', fancy alco-pop type drinks, MTV on screens or plush surrounding, this is NOT the place! Thankfully it is an interesting bar selling various beers & ales from around the world (as well as some wines etc.). The artwork etc. on the walls are interesting conversation pieces and the music is modern and does... More

Stumbled across this place by accident looking for a place to get a pint before dinner. Ended up staying quite long and one pint became many more. Loved the beer selection and whilst the atmosphere was not the one of a normal pub or bar it was still very nice. Would definitely return.

My big criticism of the Cathedral Quarter is that a lot of the bars churn out rubbish beer from the usual big breweries (Diageo, Tennents, Bass etc.). The Green Room is a gem though. You'll get some toppers in here from either the rotating taps or the bottles/cans in the fridge serving serious beer like Mikkeller, Beavertown, Magic Rock, Kernel... More

We ended up here one night by accident. We met with friends for far too many drinks when one of our number suddenly realised he had tickets for him and his partner for a Kate Bush night. So nothing less would do than we all decided to go despite the fact that at least four of us did not have... More

My company had a stall at the titanic expo , all the people attending the event went to the black box pub for something to eat and drink . It was excellent , first class service and the food was very nice . That staff made us all welcome and the service was to a very high standard . All... More

Went here last night for the sing-along Mamma Mia as part of the Belfast Festival. Wasn't sure what it was going to be like, but I have to say, it was a great night! Nice and intimate for a group of around 50 ladies (and the odd male, of course) to sing their hearts out (albeit badly) to Abba's best... More

A great venue in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter. There are 2 rooms, both with full bar & a surprisingly wide selection of draught & bottle beers. Music, comedy & other genres catered for.

Our first visit to the black box to see Neil Delamere was very tiring on the legs!! Yes it did state doors open at 730 but getting there at 8pm to find no seats was a shock - £35 for 2 tickets and no seat????? Thankfully the cosy surroundings and well stocked bar made it very pleasant. A super venue... More
