A good steep uphill walk from Belfast Castle but worth it for the amazing views and scenery. A must for anyone visiting the city and also great walking territory for serious and casual walkers. You have to be reasonably fit to get to the top in my view

Visited Cave Hill in August 16. It was a beautiful sunny day. Took us about an hour to walk to top from Belfast Castle but view was definitely worth it. Would highly recommend it (but take a bottle of water!!)

Worth the steep walk up (resting places en route). If it's a warm day, take water and a picnic and spend time at the top drinking in the wonderful views. Close to Nature and close to the City. But stay on the paths. Cliff edges and unexpected gusts of wind are not a good combination.

Visited twice over recent Christmas holidays with my husband and dog. Fairly good weather both days so had a lovely dry fresh walk. A bit muddy in places but generally good paths. Plenty of big open areas for the dog to run and ramble. The only downside and one that surprised me was the absolute absence of dog waste bins.... More

Spending time on Cave hill and in the Country Park is one of my favourite things to do, especially with my dog. The old wooded areas, the amazing views over Belfast and its proximity to the city centre make it a real treat. A little bit of the countryside in the city.

Beautiful views across the city! It's quite a trek to the top if your not used to a bit of exercise but it's worth the puffing and panting when you hit the top. Great spot for a picnic on a nice day but the pathways can be a bit slippery in the bad weather.

If you like hiking you will love it. but a view footpath are slippy and dangerous so take care if you dont take the street up there. I was up Cave Hill at sunset and it was an amazing view.

If you visit Belfast Castle this is a must to do walk in seeing the surrounding local fauna. A full walk from the castle gate taking the path left on the bend and following the path through the trees and going left again when you come to the first clearing and up the granite steps will lead you to the... Cave hill is just a short car ride out of the city centre and offers spectacular views over the city centre and Belfast lough. Well worth the slight trek to the top, and great for dog walking.
