I liked the old bridge, but it was admittedly purely functional. The new one is big and broad and curvy. There are even benches midway you can sit on. Do stop and take time, if you can, to look for swimming seabirds below.

There are several bridges over the River Lagan, and precisely in this central area, there are several pieces, two of which are clean footbridges. This also serves in part as water lock. This is a great way to go if we are to the nearby the Titanic Museum or back into the main shopping streets.

Very nice modern bridge with great views of the water. You can catch this on your way to the Titanic Museum.

The bridge opened again on 30 Jun 2015 as a dual purpose pedestrian and cycle bridge to connect both sides of the river

Lagan Weir is a nice way to walk over the Lagan in the direction of either the Odyssey Complex or the city centre. The views are lovely from both the Weir & look-out & you can get some good photos of the big fish. I was sad that I didn’t glimpse any seals that are known to this area but... More

This attraction can be found beside the "Big Fish" on Donegall Quay. The footbridge crosses the Lagan River, and it's a shortcut over to the Odyssey. On the bridge, there are many locks, put there by ordinary folk, as a sign of their love for one another. It reminded me of the Ha'penny Bridge in Dublin. Bring your camera as... More

This is a foot bridge across the river Lagan, part of a flood defence. I do like the views, and was lucky one day and saw small black birds that were swimming under the water. I don't know what kind they were. On one side of the bridge is a building I have not visited yet. On the other is... More

I started my visit wondering what could be said about the Lagan and the weir to fill the visitor space. At the end of a thoroughly enjoyable and much longer time than I had expected to spend there, the answer is; a fascinating amount! Good for adult couples or families and complements the boat trips which start nearby.
