This is a magnificent building, set in equally magnificent grounds, with a mile long avenue from the entrance gates to stairs at the base of the building. The avenue is illuminated by lamp posts donated by the Canadians. Each post has a moose head on it. The number six re-occurs many time in the building. Six columns at the front... More

Stormont Parliament Buildings is home to the Northern Ireland Assembly, the legislative body for Northern Ireland established under the Belfast Agreement 1998. Built in 1921 at a cost of nearly £1.7 million. If you want to have a look at the Stormont estate, where MLA’s make important debates or walk around the beautiful grounds surrounding the estate you can. You’ll... More

Tour is really short covering just the main hall and the senate room. For people using public transport to access Stormont note that there is only one bus per hour to/from the City Centre. So note the times beforehand. If you are stuck in Stormont for a while Tea in the Cafe is only 50p!!

Decided to visit here before flying home & so glad we did. We parked outside the estate or though there is a car park near to the house. What an impressive sight from the bottom of the estate. You have to go through security checks just like airports but once inside the staff couldn't have been more helpful, we even... More

I am from this area and Stormont Estate is one of the nicest places to visit in East Belfast. There are plenty of green spaces to walk, and lots of trees. There is a large play park for families and a dog park for the four legged friend in your life.

We had a lovely long walk through the grounds. It was a crisp, cold autumnal day and there were beautiful colours. My two girls wanted to know who lives in the castle at the top of the hill (parliament buildings)!! The play area is great.

Caught one of the free tours and found it very interesting though the language of the guide was overwhelmingly unionist but then again I suppose that is to be expected. Definitely worth doing the tour if you are in Belfast as you get a good insight into Northern Irish politics. The shop is cute too. You can buy a bottle... More

Wonderful insight into Northern Ireland politics. Beautiful building and an excellent tour. The only difficulty was hearing the guide. In the main hall, due to the high ceilings, it was hard to hear. It was not an issue with an accent, just the acoustics.
