Another place visited with the Armagh Ambassadors Group. Very interesting place!! One can look up their family history or browse through old newspapers.

Since this Library moved from Markethill Road to the centre of Armagh about twenty years ago the fine collection of every conceivable book about the city, the county and further afield is displayed in a fine room in what was originally the City Hospital building. It also has a fine collection of newspapers, census details, maps and numerous other documents... More

This library is an excellent place to find out about your Armagh ancestors. We were shown how to use the microfiche machine with great patience. We found quite a few obituaries and were able to copy them. There was a lot more we didn't have time to use. We will be back.

If you have any interest in Irish history you would be unfortunate not to spend a while wandering around this collection of books and archives. If you are niot interested now, you will be after a visit. Very friendly staff and accessible collection.
