Great open space for children to play just be mindful of the lake. Kids were able to ride their bikes safely and play in park. They really enjoyed the maze as it was great fun letting them run wild although wouldn't recommend letting a 4 year old lead the way as it could take quite a while to get through!... More

We stayed in the main castle big dorms. In one of the dorms heating was broke it was 28 degrees. Out doors has a great view. When we ate at the castle it was lovely food.

Beautiful views over the lake and beyond. The map is organised and gives you an approximate time of walks. The maze is... More

Absolutely brilliant place for cycling, and caters for all different abilities. Perfect for young children and teenagers and those seeking thrills on the red and black bike trails. Even if you don't want to cycle, you walk around the lake and see the stunning vies of the trees, the lake and the Mournes. Brilliant little tea room!!

This is a great facility to have on your doorstep. Walking, cycling, hiking. It's all here. There is a cafe though it's rarely open but with shops and cafes nearby it's not an issue.

Castlewellan Forest Park is a blessing, and I say that confidently. Both those from Northern Ireland and those from all around the world will be left in awe of the beauty of the scenery you will find here. The walk around the lake is breath-taking, the maze is a nightmare to get through (in a good challenging way) and you... More

Take the yellow track towards the top of the hill where you see the landscape in a wonderful perspective.
