Overview
More
Castle Ward will take you on a journey of discovery. The 18th-century eccentric house with two distinctly different styles, classical and Gothic, will entice you to explore further. This truly beautiful 332-hectare (820-acre) walled demesne, with walking trails, exotic garden, stunning vistas and picturesque farmyard, will unlock your imagination through family history, leisure pursuits, events and industrial heritage. A children's pastimes centre and laundry room are a short walk from the house in the stableyard, alongside a gift shop, second-hand bookshop and tea-room.

We had a short visit to the estate recently and had a walk to Winter fell. The walks are beautiful and well signposted. The coffee shop is quite expensive and does get busy. We will returning to do the full estate very soon

I would highly recommend a visit here, although note you must take a guided tour of the house- currently at 12pm, 1pm and 3pm, lasting approx 45 min to one hour so ensure you allocate enough time to see the house and grounds

Repeat visitor to this place, sadly we were too late for the now annual GOT themed festival - maybe next year Property itself has been well maintained over the years which is always nice to see. Recommend this place to any visitor without question.

We went to see GoT location. All they give you is an inaccurate map and it's very confusing. There are no signs so you don't know what you're looking for or at. Apparently the house tour is included but we were told we'd have to...More
