This is a nice walk to get a feel for the city. I would recommend doing the walk after going to one of the museums, or understanding the significance in how the wall played a part in even the modern history of the Derry.

Walking the walls is a must when visiting Derry. We just did a self-tour as there a many historical plaques explaining various historical facts and events.

The walls are just over a mile in length. A lovely stroll round, but next time we will take the guided tour.

Derry is the only city in Europe with its walls still fully intact and a walk around these walls is a must for any visitor. Here history comes to life and the past and the present merge.

Loved walking the walls. Can be walked in 20/25 mins if pushed but better if you can take time to enjoy all the fabulous views. It is very steep in parts and some people may struggle.

The walls encircle the centre of the city so there's no specific postcode. Foyleside Shopping Centre is adjacent to the walls on Orchard Street, postcode is BT48 6XY. There is parking in the Centre and this might be the... More
