Beautiful cathedral in Bogside on raised ground. Very welcoming. Well kept gardens. Pity we weren't there on a Sunday x

In December of 2022, my girlfriend and I attended the 10:00 a.m., mass at St. Eugene's. Beautiful 30 minute mass and had the opportunity to purchase religious items afterward. The Deacon blessed those items for us before we departed.

Parking is available. Service was very devotional and the singing of the two ladies with the guitar and piano was absolutely beautiful. The cathedral is lovely to look around as the interior is magnificent.

We stopped for a few minutes at St. Eugene’s Cathedral in Derry. It is a beautiful old cathedral, but the incongruent modernization really does not add to it.

Really nice Cathedral. We attended a service there and it was a special location. The music and singing were lovely.

I was lucky to visit this cathedral while they were exhibiting some school artwork. I was impressed by some of the finalists work. I'm not sure how long the exhibition will last but it's work a look.

Such great care is taken of this place, the church and the gardens up the drive way were really beautiful, colourful and the roses smelt wonderful. I walk up from the main square in about 12 minutes.

St Eugene's is outside the city walls (unlike St Columb's). The catheral is modern (i.e. late 19th century) but has a beauty and some nice stained-glass windows. However, I personally find the role of the churches in Derry's violence reprehensible and could not "enjoy" the experience. St Eugene's is worth a visit even though my perspective is that both cathedrals have huge responsibility for the hatred and violence that has affected Derry over the past centuries.
